qmeme_1403139137108_697The Cyclones beat the Gades for the 2nd straight night & their 3rd straight win.

Brooklyn jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, as Amed Rosario blasted one out in the 1st.

In the bottom of the 5th, the Renegade bats would come alive. Mac James led off with a double, followed by a single by Hunter Lockwood. Elias Torres failed to reach base or drive in anyone. Coty Blanchard singled to shallow left and James failed to advance, loading the bases for Hudson Valley. Wilmer Dominguez would ground into a fielders choice scoring James and Douglas Duran would ground out to end the inning, but the game was tied at 1.

Hudson Valley would take their first lead of the season vs Brooklyn in the Bottom of the 7th. Lockwood singled & Torres bunted him to 2nd. Coty Blanchard singled Lockwood in to make it 2-1 Gades.

The Cyclones 8th inning was interesting. Tucker Tharp hit for Ponce & hit the ball to short. SS Alec Sole threw to 1st & Tharp was called out, however Benny Distefano (who was coaching 1st) & Tom Gamboa were unhappy with the ball. The next batter, Joe Tuschak singled to center, followed by a walk to Amed Rosario. With the runners going, Michael Katz singled to left, tying the game at 2-2. Bernal tried to keep the rally going, but failed.

Hudson Valley would not go down easy in the bottom half of the inning. Bralin Jackson reached on an error by Anthony Chavez, who came in to play 2nd. Alec Sole bunted Jackson to 2nd. Casey Gillaspie hit the ball to center and Jackson scored on a close play at the plate, giving Hudson Valley a 3-2 lead. On the next play, C Adrian Abreu managed to pick off Casey Gillaspie at 1st. Mac James then went down looking to send the game into the 9th.

Jhoan Urena opened the 9th with a blast to right center to tie the game up at 3. That would be all the offense for Brooklyn in the 9th, as the next 3 guys all went down.

Hudson Valley would almost win it in the 9th. Coty Blanchard singled to short & advanced to 2nd on a throwing error by Rosario. Wilmer Dominguez singled to right & Blanchard raced home. While Blanchard beat the throw, he failed to touch home plate & Abreu tagged him out to end the inning & send the game into extra innings.

In the Top of the 10th, the Cyclones would win without getting a hit. Tuschak & Rosario reached on back to back errors giving the Cyclones 1st & 3rd. Tyler Moore then hit a sac fly to give the Cyclones a 4-3 lead. Kats would move Rosario over to 3rd, but that would be all as Bernal went down swinging.

Shane Bay came in to close it out. After getting both Douglas Duran & Bralin Jackson to ground out to third, he gave up a walk to Alec Sole, putting the tying run on 1t. However, he would have Casey Gillaspie swing & miss at strike 3 to get his 1st save of the year & send Brooklyn home happy!
