Hudson Valley got on the board early tonight. With Alberto Baldanado on the mound for Brooklyn, Jace Conrad led off with a single. He stole 2nd & advanced to 3rd on the throwing error by Tyler Moore. Coty Blanchard struck out swinging, but but Casey Gillaspie grounded out to 2nd, allowing Conrad to score. Elias Torres drew a walk and managed to steal 2nd & 3rd, scoring on a double by Daniel Miles, giving the Renegades a 2-0 lead.

Brooklyn did strike back in the 2nd. Michael Bernal reached on an error by Miles with 1 out. He quickly stole 2nd, which allowed him to score on a Jhoan Urena single. Urena went to 2nd on a missed pickoff attempt by catcher Wilmer Dominguez. Joe Tuschak hit a single to make it 1st & 3rd. Jeff Diehl followed with a single, scoring Urena & moving Tuschak to 3rd. However, Anthony Chavez hit into a double-play to end the inning, but the Cyclones had tied it at 2.

The Gades would get 1 run in the 2nd, as Branlin Jackson would hit a single to center nd score on a steal, bad pickoff & a single by Jace Conrad to make it 3-2.

The Renegades would blow the game open in the 3rd. Gillaspie reached on an infield hit. He advanced to 2nd on a wild pitch. After a ground-out  to short, Miles would double in Gillaspie making it 4-2. Dominguez beat out a throw by Rosario to make it 1st & 2nd. After another wild pitch by Alberto Baldonado, Jackson was walked to load the bases. Chris Talley field out to Bernal and Hudson Valley didn’t test Bernal’s cannon of an arm. Clayton Henning hit a double that would score Miles & Dominguez and make it 6-2. That would be all for Baldanado, as Brandon Welch was brought in to replace him. He got Conrad to line out to end the inning.

Brooklyn would get one more run in the Top of the 4th on a 1 out, solo shot by Urena to left field. That would be all the scoring for the night.
The Cyclones have now lost 2 straight, falling to 8-4 on the season, tied with the Gades for 1st in the McNamara Division. The Cyclones have a 2 game home series with Aberdeen, starting tomorrow at 7pm. It’s $10 tickets Wednesday which also includes All Star Cups, so arrive early.
