qmeme_1405221208052_81The Cyclones fell to the Connecticut Tigers tonight by a score of 4-3.

Brooklyn took an early lead in Top of the 1st. With Spencer Turnbull on the mound for the tigers,Tucker Tharpled off with a strikeout, but Amed Rosario & Jhoan Urena drew back to back walks. Michael Katz popped it up and was called out due to the infield fly rule. Michael Bernal then singled in Rosario before Tyler Moore grounded out to end the inning. Brooklyn added another Top of the 2nd. Jeff Diehl led off with a double and moved to 3rd on a wild pitch. Diehl scored on a groundout by Joe Tuschak. The Cyclones managed to get 2nd & 3rd with one out but failed to score.

Connecticut finally got on the board in the Bottom of the 4th. With Octavio Acosta on the mound, Garrett Mattlage drew a one out walk. He advanced to 3rd on a single by Ross Kivett & scored on a sacrifice fly by Joseph Pankake. The Tigers added another in the Bottom of the 7th. Luis Mateo came in for Octavio Acosta. Kivett doubled to center & Pankake doubled him in to tie it up.

Brooklyn retook the lead in Top of the 8th. With Gage Smith on the mound, Urena led off with a single and moved to 2nd on an error by LF Rashad Brown. Katz lined out to Smith. Bernal singled to right and RF Ben Verlander, brother of Justin Verlander gunned Urena down at the plate. Smith intentionally walked Moore, who was taken out for Dimas Ponce. Diehl singled to left, scoring Bernal. With 2nd & 3rd and 2 outs, Tuschak grounded out to 1st to end the inning.

The Tigers quickly tied it up in the Bottom of the 8th. With Brad Wieck on the mound for Luis Mateo, Will Maddox & Rashad Brown were both called out on strikes. Mattlage drew a walk, stole 2nd and then advanced to 3rd on a Wild Pitch. Kivett drew a walk. Pankake reached on an error by Urena, scoring Mattlage. Verlander grounded out to end the inning.

Brooklyn managed to get 2 on in the Top of the 9th, but failed to score. The Cyclones had Jose Prevost pitch the Bottom of the 9th. After getting Domingo Leyba to ground out, he struck out Steven Fuentes, but the ball went to passed Nido, allowing Fuentes to reach 1st. Franklin Navarro singled to left. Brett Pirtle ran for Franklin Navarro. Will Maddox grounded out, giving the Tigers 2nd & 3rd. Rashad Brown walked. With the bases loaded, Garrett Mattlage drew a walk off walk, giving Brooklyn their 3rd straight loss. The Cyclones are now tied for 2nd at 15-14 with the Staten Island Yankees.
