The Connecticut Tigers got things going off Corey Oswalt in the Bottom of the 1st. Rashad Brown led off with a single. Garrett Mattlage went down swinging. Ross Kivett singled Brown to 2nd. Michael Gerber grounded out, giving the Tigers 2nd & 3rd with 2 outs. Kasey Coffman doubled in Brown & Kivett, giving the Tigers a 2-0 lead. Domingo Leyba grounded out to end the inning.

Connecticut would add another in the 2nd. Steven Fuentes singled to center. Franklin Navarro flew out to right. Fuentes then stole 2nd and moved to 3rd on a single by Jacob Kapstein. Brown grounded into a fielder’s choice scoring Fuentes. Mattlage would single to make it 1st & 3rd, but Kivett popped out.

Things would get heated in the 3rd. With 1 out, Oswalt hit Coffman with a pitch. As Coffman headed to 1st, he and Oswalt were jawing off, leading to a few Cyclones to leave the dugout. Home plate umpire Chris Scott warned them to stay back and none of the players went passed the foul lines. Leyba flew out to center. Casey Coffman stole 2nd before Fuentes drew a walk. Navarro reached on a single due to the ball deflecting off 1B Michael Katz, scoring Coffman for the 4th run of the game. Kapstein popped out to end the inning.

Connecticut almost added another in the 4th, but Michael Bernal gunned Mattlage at home plate.

Connecticut would add 2 more in the 7th off Cyclones reliever Scarlyn Reyes. Coffman & Leyba hit back-to-back singles to give the Tigers 1st & 2nd. Kasey Coffman singles on a ground ball to right fielder Michael Bernal. Fuentes grounded out to make it 2nd & 3rd. Navarro went down out swinging. Kapstein singled in Coffman and Leyba to make it 6-0. That would be all for Reyes as Luis Rengel came in to pitch. Rengel got Brown to ground out to end the inning.

For the Cyclones, the team only had 4 hits & 5 base runners all game.
