10626700_660969367343653_4652536681245123802_nWith Tom Signore expected to be out the next 2 to 3 weeks, Dave LaRoche will serve as Interim Pitching Coach starting tomorrow.

LaRoche is no stranger to the Mets, as he initially joined the Mets organization in 1988 with Kingsport (R) of the Appalachian League. He also served as pitching coach for Pittsfield (A) of the New York-Penn League from 1994-95. He was the Bullpen Coach with the New York Mets in 1992 and 1993.

He worked with the Mets during Extended Spring Training earlier in the year. This changed was decided upon today.

SOME OTHER NEWS

Per Cyclones Director of Communications Billy Harner, the Season Ticket Holder Batting Practice is expected to take place on Sunday, August 3rd.

The Batting Practice for the Top 20 of the Brooklyn Cyclones Baseball Card Contest will be a separate event, so some people will get to go twice.

Paul Paez was sent from the Savannah Sand Gnats (Low – A) to the Brooklyn Cyclones. Many fans remember Paul Paez as being the pitcher who Donnelly brought in when the season was on the line & cost the Cyclones a playoff appearance.

Paez, a lefty, will wear #47. He wore #32 least season.


 INJURIES

1B Jeff Diehl has an oblique injury.

Both have missed the last 2 games. No timeframe on their returns.
