The lost their 1st of 3 games in Batavia tonight by a score of 4-2.
Batavia scored early off Marcos Molina, who was named to the NYPL All Star Game, in the Bottom of the 1st. Mason Davis led off with a double to right. After getting Javier Lopez & John Norwood to strike out swinging, Carlos Duran doubled to right scoring Davis. Molina got KJ Woods to ground out to end the inning.
After 2 scoreless inning, Molina ran into trouble in the Bottom of the 4th. Duran & Woods led off with singles to start the inning. Aaron Blanton doubled to center, scoring Duran and moving Woods to 3rd. Kevin Grove singled to right, scoring Woods and moving Blanton to 3rd. Molina got Rodrigo Vigil to ground into a 4-6-3 double play which scored Blanton & Ryan Aper to look at strike 3.
Brooklyn finally got on the scoreboard in the Top of the 6th off Connor Overton. John Mora reaches on an error with 1-out. A wild pitch sent him to 2nd & he scored on a double by Amed Rosario. Michael Conforto was called out on strikes. The inning ended when Rosario was caught trying to steal 3rd. Brooklyn got another in the Top of the 7th off Gabriel Castellanos. Michael Bernal hit a 1-out single to right. After a pop-out by Adrian Abreu, Jeff Diehl walked. Pedro Perez, in his Cyclones debut, hit a single to left, scoring Bernal and moving Diehl to 3rd. The rally ended when Tyler Moore grounded out to end the inning.
The score would remain 4-2 and with a 3-1 win by the Tigers, the Cyclones & Tigers are both 29-26, with Connecticut holding the tiebreaker.
