qmeme_1408805543690_118The debate is on: Were the Cyclones Bats hotter than the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Models at MCU Park last night?

Playing the Tri-City ValleyCats for the 1st of 6 times in the next 2 weeks the Brooklyn bats exploded in the Bottom of the 2nd. Jhoan Urena and Tomas Nido led off with back-to-back singles. A wild pitch by ValleyCats starter Austin Chrismon send them to 2nd & 3rd. Tyler Moore hit a sacrifice fly to center scoring Urena. Michael Bernal singled to center scoring Nido. With Tucker Tharp up, Bernal stole 2nd and a throwing error by C Alfredo Gonzalez allowed Bernal to score. Tharp tripled to right. However, he would stay stranded at 3rd as Alfredo Reyes went down swinging and Adrian Abreu lined out.

Brooklyn made it a blowout in the Bottom of the 3rd. Pedro Perez led off with a single. Michael Conforto doubled to make it 2nd & 3rd. Urena singled to right scoring Perez and sending Conforto to 3rd. Nido went down looking. With Moore up, Urena stole 2nd base and Conforto scored on an error that also sent Urena to 3rd. Tyler Moore singled to right, scoring Urena. ValleyCats manager Ed Romero pulled Austin Chrismon for Aaron Vaughn. Vaughn struck out Bernal, then gave up a wild pitch that moved Moore to 2nd. Tharp singled to center, scoring Moore. Reyes singled past first, moving Tharp to 2nd. Another wild pitch by Vaughn made it 2nd & 3rd, by Abreu ended the rally when he struck out swinging.

Martires Arias pitched 5 shutout innings for his 2nd win. Gaither Bumgardner and Cameron Griffin each pitched 2 shutout innings to help Brooklyn lower the Magic Number to 9.
