Less than 24 hours after losing a heartbreaker in Staten Island, the Cyclones bounced back to blow out the Yankees in a much needed win.

The Cyclones got things going in the Top of the 3rd off Yankees starter Jordan Cote. Michael Bernal led off with an infield single. Tucker Tharp singled to center, sending Bernal to 3rd, which sent Tharp to 2nd on the throw. Alfredo Reyes blooped a single into center, scoring Bernal and sending Tharp to 3rd. Adrian Abreu grounds to short, scoring Tharp & sending Reyes to 2nd. Amed Rosario singled to center scoring Reyes to make it 3-0. Michael Conforto grounded, moving Rosario to 2nd. Jhoan Urena singled to right, scoring Rosario. Tyler Moore singled to left, moving Urena to 2nd. Pedro Perez singled past third, scoring Urena. An error allowed Moore to go to 3rd & sent Perez to 2nd. After the bat-around, Michael Bernal struck out to end the inning.

Cyclones Starter Casey Meisner ran into trouble in the Bottom of the 4th. Connor Spencer hit a 1-out double to right. A wild pitch sent him to 3rd. Chris Breen walked. Ty McFarland doubled to denter scoring Spencer and moving Breen to 3rd. However, Meisner got Isaias Tejeda & Luis Torrens to to both strike out. This would be 2 of his 11 strikeouts on the night, as he threw 6 innings, giving up 4 hits, 1 earned run and a walk.

Brooklyn quickly got the run back, and then some, in the Top of the 5th off reliever Sean Carley. Conforto singled to left. Urena tripled to center scoring Conforto. Moore reached on an error, which allowed Urena to cross home plate. However, Pere hit into a 1-4-3 double play and Bernal grounded out to end the inning.

The Cyclones added another in the Top of the 8th off pitcher Ethan Carnes. Reyes hit a 2-out single to right. Abreu reached on an error, which sent Reyes to 3rd. Rosario reach on an infield single that scored Reyes and moved Abreu to 2nd. Carnes struck out Conforto to end the inning.

The Yankees got their only other run in the Bottom of the 8th off Gaither Bumgardner. Devyn Bolasky drew a 1-out walk. Spencer singled him to 2nd. Breen singled to center, scoring Bolasky and moving Spencer to 2nd. However, McFarland grounded into a 4-6-3 double play to end the inning.

Eddie Villasmil pitched a scoreless 9th to give Brooklyn win #39 on the season. This drops the magic number to 5 for Brooklyn, as the Tigers won their game vs Lowell. They face off against SI tonight. The Cyclones are giving out All Star Cups.
