640px-Coney_Island_Stillwell_Station_by_David_ShankboneOpening Day is upon us! Just hours until the 2015 season begins in Staten Island.

However, we must remember that the MTA does love to change service patterns on weekends and Opening Day will not deter them from affecting service in and out of Stillwell Terminal.

Here are your travel advisories for those taking the Subway to the Cyclones Home Opener on Saturday and the Father’s Day game in Staten Island on Sunday.

N TrainConey Island-bound trains run via the D track from 36 St to Coney Island – Stillwell Av. You will need to backtrack to either 36th St or New Utrecht Ave to transfer to a Coney Island bound train.

Q TrainAll Coney Island Bound Q trains are running on the express track from Prospect Park to Kings Highway.

If you are coming from a stop North of Prospect Park (such as Times Sq., Herald Sq., Union Sq., Canal St, Dekalb Ave & Barclays Center) consider transferring to the Q as your trip to Coney Island will be at least 15 minutes quicker.

If you are getting on a Q at a bypassed stop (Parkside Ave, Beverely Rd, Courtelyou Rd, Aves H, J, or M) you have to take a northbound train to either Prospect Park, Church Ave, or Newkirk Plaza to get a Coney Island Bound Q.

1 Train1 Trains are not running below 14th St. Transfer at 14th for a Downtown 2 or 3 train to Chambers St. At Chambers St, take a Shuttle Bus to South Ferry.

You can also consider switching to the 4, 5 & R trains.

5 Train5 Trains do not operate in Brooklyn over the weekends. If you are coming from anywhere along the Nostrand Ave corridor, take a the 2 to the 4 Train at Franklin Ave or Nevins St.

There will be heavy traffic in Coney Island on Saturday due to the Mermaid Parade. While it finishes before 1st pitch, it does cause delays.

Those driving to Staten Island on Sunday, please note there is limited parking available near the ballpark. Please consider Mass Transit. If you plan on driving to the ballpark & have space for other fans, or if you need please post it in the Facebook Group REAL BROOKLYN CYCLONES FAN. The accepted going rate is $5 to help cover tolls.

Park and Rides are available at a number of Staten Island Railway stations. Please check the MTA website for a list of those stations.
