qmeme_1435889900962_973The was a big crowd on hand at MCU Park tonight, as the Cyclones fans got their 1st look at the 2015 Hudson Valley Renegades. 3000 of the Cyclones faithful were rocking some stylish Marty McFly jerseys in honor of Back to the Future Night.

Gaby Almonte took the mound for Brooklyn. Hudson Valley broke the tie in the Top of the 5th off Cyclones starter Gaby Almonte. Angel Moreno led off with a double to left. Nic Wilson singled to left to move Moreno to 3rd. Josh Rapacz grounds into a double play which scored Moreno to make it 1-0 in favor of Hudson Valley.

Christian Montgomery 2Christian Montgomery came into pitch the 7th and was lights out. He would earn the win, as the Cyclones would finally get on Alfredo Reyesthe board in the Bottom of the 7th off reliever Michael Velasquez. David Thompson, Jeff Diehl & Enmanuel Zabala all singled to load the bases. After a strikeout by pinch hitter Zach Mathieu, Alfredo Reyes singled to center, scoring Thompson and Diehl while sending Zabala to 3rd. Reyes was tagged out trying to get to 2nd. Manuel Hilario grounded out to end the inning, but the Cyclones led 2-1.

Following that was a 27 minute rain delay. Once it was over, Alex Palsha came in to get a 2 inning save, in which he struck out 4 Renegades to send the crowd of 5,279 home happy.


The Cyclones are now 9-4, leading the McNamara Division by 1.5 games over the Staten Island Yankees. The Cyclones will look to sweep the Renegades tomorrow, as they head up to Fishkill. The game is scheduled for 7pm and you can follow the game and listen to all the action on WKRB with Stu Johnson by using one of these apps.
