The Cyclones got on the scoreboard in the Top of the 3rd off starter Brett Helton when Tucker Tharp doubled in Jose Garcia.

Blake Taylor pitched 2 shutout innings and 1 batter in the Bottom of the 3rd. Ruben Reyes came in and pitched 2.0 shutout innings.

The Cyclones got another run in the Top of the 5th when David Thompson hit his 1st professional homer off Helton.

The Cyclones got another in the Top of the 6th off reliever Nick Hibbing, when Michael Bernal doubled in Tucker Tharp to make it 3-0.

Tucker Tharp 2Chris Flexen came in during the Bottom of the 5th to make his Brooklyn Cyclones debut. He ran into trouble in the Bottom of the 6th. Kevin Kramer led off with a single & Logan Hill drew a walk to make it 1st & 2nd. Ty Moore singled to right, scoring Kramer and moving Hill to 3rd. With Albert Baur up, the Black Bears pulled off a double steal that scored Hill and moved Moore to 2nd. Moore went to 3rd on a throwing error by C Jose Garcia. Albert Baur lined out, but Daniel Arribas singled to center, scoring Moore. Flexen got out of the inning, but the lead was gone.

The Black Bears would take the lead in the Bottom of the 8th. With Flexen still on the mound, Logan Hill led off with a double. Ty Moore grounded out, and that would be it for Flexen, as Johnny Magliozzi, who is celebrating his birthday, came in to pitch. Baur singled to left, scoring Hill. Baur went to 2nd on the throw. Arribas lined out, but a wild pitch moved Baur to 3rd, as Magliozzi gave up a hit to Rivera, who scored Baur. Christian Kelley reached on a single, but Magliozzi got Casey Hughston to line out to end the inning.

The cyclones got runners on 1st & 2nd in the bottom of the 9th, but Zach Mathieu kept up his streak of ending rallies by going down swinging to end the game.
