qmeme_1438484890173_280The Cyclones winning streak came to an end tonight, as they fell to the Batavia Muckdogs by a score of 10-3.

Andrew Church ran into trouble in the Top of the 1st from the get go. His 1st batter, Alex Fernandez was hit by a pitch. He then threw a wild pitch, sending Fernandez to 2nd. Taylor Munden singled to left, moving Fernandez to 3rd. Stone Garrett hit a sac fly to RF, scoring Fernandez. Brad Haynal singled to center, moving Munden to 3rd. Roy Morales singled to left, scoring Munden & moving Haynal to 2nd. Yuniel Ramirez doubled to left, scoring Haynal and moving Morales to 3rd. Giovanny Alfonzo singled to right, scoring Morales and moving Ramirez to 3rd. Alfonzo stole 2nd to break up a double plat. Eric Fisher hit a sac fly to score Ramirez. That would be all for Church, who would be pulled by Manager Tom Gamboa for Dawrin Frias. Church exited giving up 6 earned runs. Frias allowed Brewster to steal 2nd, but got Fernandez to strike out swinging to end the inning.

The Top of the 2nd began with a scary moment, as home plate umpire Josh Havens took a foul ball to the mask, causing a delay. Following the inning, Havens went to the bases as Brandon Mooney would go behind the plate.

The Cyclones got their 1st run in the Bottom of the 3rd, thanks to Tucker Tharp’s 2nd homer of the season of Nestor Bautista.

The Cyclones would get another in Bottom of the 4th, thanks to David Thompson’s 2nd homer of the year, this homer coming off reliever Justin Jacome.

Frias gave up a homer to Brad Haynal to make it 7-2 in the Top of the 5th. He would be pulled 2 batters later for Ruben Reyes

The Bottom of the 5th fared somewhat better for Brooklyn. Vinny Siena & Michael Bernal hit 1-out singles to make it 1st & 3rd. Thompson popped out, but a walk to Diehl loaded the bases & a walk to Brandon Brosher brought in a run. However, Hengelbert Rojas stuck out swinging with the bases loaded to end the inning.

The Muckdogs bats kept the hitting going in the Top of the 6th. Brewster led off with a single to right. Alex Fernandez flew out to center. With Munden up, Reyes was called for a balk, sending Brewster to 2nd. Munden grounded out, moving Brewster to 3rd. Garrett homered to make it 9-3. Reyes gave up a double to Haynal, but got Morales to pop out, ending the inning.

The Bottom of the 7th saw a baseball rarity, as Nestor Bautista got 4 strikeouts in an inning. Thompson led off and reached 1st on a wild pitch that was strike 3. Bautista struck out Diehl, Brosher & Rojas swinging. He would total 7 on the game, while the Cyclones would end up with 15 through the entire game.

The Top of the 8th would be it for Reyes, as Carlos Valdez came in to pitch. After getting the 1st two guys to strike out, he walked Munden. A passed ball sent Munden to 2nd and Munder would score on a single by Garrett. Valdez got Haynal to strike out swinging to end the inning.

The Cyclones would be unable to score anything the rest of the way and ended their 3 game winning streak.
