The Muckdogs got runners to 1st & 2nd in the first two innings, but didn’t score.

Batavia would score the lone run of the game in the Top of the 5th. Stone Garrett hit a 2-out triple of Cyclones starter Chris Flexen. Brad Haynal & Roy Morales walked to load the bases, so Cyclones manager Tom Gamboa summoned in Johnny Magliozzi to pitch. A passed ball sent Garrett in to score, but Magliozzi got Yuniel Ramirez to strike out swinging to end the inning.

The Cyclones threatened in the Bottom of the 8th, but failed to score. Jeff Diehl led off with a walk, but Brandon Brosher hit into a 5-4-3 double play. Jose Garcia singled to center and Alfredo Reyes was sent in to run for him. Ryley MacEachern who came in to pitch in the Bottom of the 7th was pulled for Steven Farnworth. Michael Bernal was sent to hit for Hengelbert Rojas. A wild pitch by Farnsworth sent Reyes to 3rd, but he would go no further, as Bernal grounded out to end the inning.

Gamboa would give it one last shot in the Bottom of the 9th, as he sent Tucker Tharp to hit for Ozzie Caraballo, but Tharp grounded out. Branden Kaupe went down swinging. Vinny Siena pinch hit for Enmanuel Zabala and grounded out to end the game.

With the loss, the Cyclones drop to 22-19. They remain half a game up on the Staten Island Yankees. They head to New England to play 3 games apiece with the Lowell Spinners & Vermont Lake Monsters.
