The Cyclones have reached an all time low, as they inch closer to their 1st losing season in franchise history. The Boys of Brooklyn still remain the worst offensive team in the NY Penn League & 3rd worst in all of minor league baseball.
With the playoffs still in reach, and the front office reminding season ticket holders to pick up their free playoff tickets, it remains obvious that the players, who lack any type of team chemistry, just do not care, as they lost another game without even trying.
Aberdeen scored all the runs they would need in Top of the 4th off reliever Craig Missigman. Drew Turbin hit a 1-out double to center. Mike Odenwaelder reached on an infield hit. Alejandro Juvier grounded into a 5-4 force out, making it 1st & 3rd. A wild pitch by Missigman scored Turbin & moved Juvier to 2nd. Cedric Mullins tripled to center, scoring Juvier. Another wild pitch scored Mullins. Ricardo Andujar singled to right and a double by DJ Stewart scored Andujar. Chris Shaw doubled to left, scoring Stewart, but Laurino grounded out to end the inning.
With those 5 runs in, a usually supportive fanbase began to serenade the team with boos, as a number began to slowly file out of MCU Park, as this team has just become unwatchable. This writer even put away his score-book.
The Cyclones offense managed one more hit than the night before, and matched it in runs, as they were once again shutout, bringing the season total up to 8.
As they game ended, more and more fans feel that the Mets should make a change after the season by replacing both Manager Tom Gamboa & Hitting Coach Yunir Garcia. Gamboa looks like he is turning into another Rich Donnelly by never employing small-ball tactics or sending runners when it would benefit the team.
