The New York Penn League has released the schedule for the 2016 season. The league schedule, which shows it for all 14 teams, can be accessed by clicking HERE.

As per tradition, the season will open the Friday of Father’s Day Weekend and close on Labor Day. The Brooklyn Cyclones will open up against their rival Staten Island Yankees on Friday, June 17th, 2016. The game will be played at MCU Park, ending a 2 year streak of the season being scheduled to open at RCB Ballpark.

Here are some notes about the 2016 Brooklyn Cyclones Schedule.

The Brooklyn Cyclones will only have 4 Thursday home games, which is low, as Jersday Thursday is a popular night at MCU Park.

The Cyclones will play 34 Divisional games. They will play the Aberdeen Ironbirds and Hudson Valley Renegades 12 times each (6 home and 6 road). They will play the Staten Island Yankees 10 times (5 home, 5 road), down from 12 in 2015 & 14 in 2014.

The Cyclones will open & close the season against Staten Island with a home & home series. During the season, they will have one 3 game set in Brooklyn and one 3 game set in Staten Island.

The Cyclones and Hudson Valley Renegades will no longer play home & home series. The Cyclones will play two 3 game sets in Brooklyn and two 3 game sets in Dutchess Stadium.

The following teams are not coming to MCU Park: Williamsport Crosscutters, Batavia Muckdogs and State College Spikes.

The Cyclones will not be playing road games against the Auburn Doubledays, Mahoning Valley Scrappers and the West Virginia Black Bears.

The Black Bears will make their MCU Park debut on Wednesday, August 12th.
