qmeme_1465151843427_798With the start of the 2016 Brooklyn Cyclones now less than 2 weeks away, here are some news and other tidbits worth reading about. In this edition we will mostly cover player news.

We’ll start off with some news in regards to tickets:

  • Those who purchased Cyclones mini plans should have gotten them, or will get them this week.
  • Individual tickets, as well as special packages, will be mailed out as well. However, if you selected BALLPARK PICKUP, you have to pick them up yourself.

Pedro PerezTJS Successful on Pedro

The Tommy John Surgery preformed on infielder-turned-pitcher Pedro Perez last week was successful. The surgery was preformed by Dr. David Altchek at Hospital for Special Surgery.

Pedro flew back to the Mets Minor League Camp in Port St. Lucie and is recovering. Pedro will miss the 2016 season and a good chunk of the 2017 season.


Matt BlackhamBlackham Awaiting Word From Docs

Pitcher Matthew Blackham, who was a Starter for the Cyclones last season, recently had surgery on his arm.

Blackham will be evaluated by Mets doctors in the coming week and will await the results of the evaluation.

Should Blackham be medically cleared, he will most likely return to Brooklyn.

All season ticket holders and plan holders get a chance to see the Cyclones warm up in an open practice.

After being held the Thursday before season starts for the last few years, it has been moved to Wednesday, June 15th.

The Practice will begin at 7:00 PM and the gates to MCU Park will open 5:30 PM. Make sure to bring the letter that was enclosed with your ticket books.


Desmond LindsayLindsay Expected to Return to BKLYN

A source within the New York Mets said that Desmond Lindsay, the Mets top pick in the 2015 MLB Draft, is expected to return to the Brooklyn Cyclones this season.

  • C Brandon Brosher
  • P Nicco Blank
  • P Raul Jacobson
  • P Erik Manoah
  • OF Hengelbert Rojas
  • P Ty Williams
  • OF Enmanuel Zabala

  • 2B Dale Burdick
  • LF Vicente Lupo
  • CF Rafael Ramirez
  • P Sixto Torres
