Ty Williams (c) Pat Sanchez

Prior to today’s loss to Aberdeen, the New York Mets assigned RHP Ty Williams to the Brooklyn Cyclones.

Ty was originally drafted by the Miami Marlins in the 32nd round of the 2012 MLB Draft out of Sulphur High School in Sulphur, OK. He was redrafted by the New York Mets in the 35th round of the 2013 MLB Draft from Seminole State College in Seminole, OK.

Williams signed with the Mets and spent most of the 2013 season with the GCL Mets. He did appear in 2 games for St. Lucie late in the season. He was promoted to the Kingsport Mets for the 2014 season.

Williams was limited to just 4 games in Brooklyn last season due to soreness in his right shoulder. He made his debut on August 4th against the Lowell Spinners. However, he was declared
