Franklin Correa (c) Pat Sanchez

The New York Mets have promoted infielder Franklin Correa from Kingsport to Brooklyn. He will replace the injured Nick Sergakis.

Franklin Correa was with Brooklyn the first few games of the season. He went 0-for-3 with 2 strikeouts on June 18th, & pitched 2 innings in relief on Opening Night.

He was sent to Kingsport following a win vs Tri-Cty. During his time with Kingsport, Correa hit .214 with 7 doubles, 2 triples and 3 HRs while driving in 25.

Correa will wear jersey number 1, which he wore with Brooklyn at the start of the season. Nick Sergakis last wore jersey number 1 before his injury.

To help Darryl Knight at First Base due a season ending injury to Pete Alonso, Anthony Dimino, who is a Catcher & First Baseman was added to the Brooklyn Cyclones roster as well from the Kingsport Mets.

Dimino is in his 2nd season with the New York Mets, as he was drafted by the New York Mets in the 28th round of the 2015 MLB Draft. He was selected from the Belmont Abbey College Crusaders, located in Belmont, NC.

Dimino appeared in 30 games with the GCL Mets in 2015, hitting .295 with 5 doubles and 10 RBIs.

In 37 games with the Kingsport Mets during the 2016 season, Dimino was hitting .325 with 19 runs scored. He also hit 7 doubles, a homer and drove in 15 runs. He was 7-of-9 in stolen base attempts.

Dimino will wear #5.
