qmeme_1472353402104_359Gabriel Llanes was the man to pitch for Brooklyn and one has to wonder why he was selected as the Opening Night starter, as he once again pitched poorly.

In the Bottom of the 1st, Luke Maglich & David Martinelli hit singles with one out to make it 1st & 3rd. Darick Hall hit a sac fly to right, scoring Maglich. Lucas Williams flew out to end the inning.

The Cyclones blew a huge chance in the Top of the 2nd. Colby Woodmansee led off with a single, but was thrown out trying to steal 2nd. Blake Tiberi walked and Michael Paez struck out swinging. With Jay Jabs up, Tiberi was caught trying to swipe 2nd.

With two away in the Bottom of the 2nd, Chandler Hall singled to left. Evan Rogers reached on an error by Tiberi to score Hall and it allowed Rogers to reach 3rd. Juan Luis flew out to end the inning.

Maglich led off the Bottom of the 3rd with an infield hit. Martinelli grounded out, sending Maglich to 2nd. Maglich stole 3rd, but it made no difference, as Hall homered to right, scoring Maglich to make it 4-0. Llanes got Williams & Brett Barbier to fly out to end the inning.

Gene Cone led off the Top of the 4th with a single and took 2nd on an error by LF Juan Luis. Luis Carpio grounded out, moving Cone to 3rd. Desmond Lindsay was called out on strikes for the 2nd out. A passed ball scored Cone, but Woodmansee flew out for the final out.

Llanes had more trouble in the Bottom of the 4th. Rogers hit a 2-out single to right and took 3rd on a single by Juan Luis. He managed to get out of the jam by getting Luke Maglich to ground out.

Martinelli began the Bottom of the 5th by reaching 3rd on an error by CF Desmond Lindsay. Hall doubled to left, scoring Martinelli. Williams grounded out, moving Hall to 3rd. Barbier singled to left, scoring Hall and Barbier took 2nd on a throwing advances error by Jabs. Henri Lartigue & Hall grounded out to end the inning.

The Bottom of the 7th saw Ty Williams finally replace Llanes, who gave up 10 hits, & 6 runs, 4 earned. Williams threw a scoreless inning, but Austin McGeorge ran into trouble in the Bottom of the 8th. He issued a 2-out walk to Rogers. Luis reached on an error by Paez, moving Rogers to 3rd. Maglich singled to right, scoring Rogers and moving Luis to 3rd. Martinelli singled to right, scoring Luis, but the throw from Cone nailed Maglich at 3rd.

Down 8-1, the Cyclones added a run in the Top of the 9th. Cone led off with a single to left and took 2nd on a wild pitch. Carpio walked and Lindsay grounded into a force out that got Carpio in a rundown. Woodmansee flew out to center, but a single by Tiberi scored Cone and moved Lindsay to 2nd. Paez flew out to end the game with Brooklyn losing 8-2.
