qmeme_1472748825646_613In typical Brooklyn Cyclones fashion, now that they have been eliminated from playoff contention, the bats woke up, many runs were scored & the team breezed their way to a win.

The ace of the staff, Harol Gonzalez got the start and had some trouble in the Top of the 1st. Daniel Johnson led off the game with a triple to right and Clayton Brandt doubled to left, scoring Johnson. Nick Banks grounded out, moving Brandt to 3rd. Oliver Ortiz singled to center, scoring Brandt to make it 2-0. Tres Barrera singled to center, moving Ortiz to 2nd. Harol struck out Paul Panaccione & Ryan Ripken to end the inning.

Harol allowed a 2-out double to Johnson in the Top of the 2nd, but he remained there.

Colby Woodmansee led off the Bottom of the 2nd with a single to center, took 2nd on a wild pitch and 3rd on a groundout by Blake Tiberi. Ali Sanchez hit the ball back to starter Carlos Acevedo who fired home to nail Woodmansee at the plate. Anthony Dimino doubled to left, making it 2nd & 3rd. Franklin Correa singled past the 3B Andres Martinez, scoring Sanchez and Dimino was thrown out at home.

Arnaldo Berrios led off the Bottom of the 3rd with a walk and took 2nd on a balk. Gene Cone singled on a bunt, moving Berrios to 3rd. Luis Carpio lined out, but a single by Lindsay scored Berrios and sent Cone to 2nd. Woodmansee grounded into a force out, scoring Cone and nailing Lindsay at 3rd. Tiberi was hit by pitch, advancing Woodmansee to 2nd. Ali Sanchez grounded out to end the inning.

Ali Sanchez 5Steven Fuentes came in to pitch the Bottom of the 5th and now that the season mean nothing, the bats woke up. Carpio & Lindsay began the inning with singles to make it 1st & 2nd. Woodmansee singled to center, scoring Carpio. A fielding error allowed it to be 2nd & 3rd for Brooklyn. Tiberi struck out swinging, but a single by Sanchez scored Lindsay & Woodmansee. Dimino & Franklin Correa singled to load the bases. Arnaldo Berrios hit a sac fly to score Sanchez and move Dimino to 3rd. Correa stole 2nd, but Cone struck out to end the inning.

After 7 innings, Harol was pulled for Gabriel Feliz, who threw a scoreless Top of the 8th

Carpio drew a 1-out walk in the Bottom of the 8th off reliever Brayan Serrata. Lindsay was hit by pitch, moving Carpio to 2nd. A wild pitch made it 2nd & 3rd. Woodmansee drew a walk and a wild pitch on Ball 4 scored Carpio and moved Lindsay to 3rd. Tiberi doubled to right, scoring Lindsay and sending Woodmansee to 3rd. Serrata got Sanchez to pop out and Dimino to line out, ending the inning.

Ty Williams came in to close out the game. After getting Ryan Ripken to ground out, David Kerian grounded the ball to 1B Dimino who threw to Williams, who dropped the ball. Martinez grounded into a force out, nailing Kerian at 2nd. A wild pitch moved Martinez to 2nd. Johnson drew a walk as Martinez stole 3rd. Brandt flew out to end the game, giving Brooklyn a win.
