To fill the roster spot of the recently traded Erik Manoah, the New York Mets promoted Right Handed Pitchers Gregorix Estevez and Jordan Humphreys from the Kingsport Mets to the Brooklyn Cyclones.
They are expected to be active for tonight’s game at Ripken Stadium against the Aberdeen Ironbirds.
Humphreys is scheduled to to be the starting pitcher during Sunday’s game against the Staten Island Yankees.
Estevez is in his 4th season with the Mets, as he signed in 2013. He spent 2013 & 2014 with the Dominican Mets before going to the Gulf Coast League in 2015.
He moved up to Kingsport at the start of 2016. He appeared in 17 games, going 1-1 with an ERA of 4.29 in 21 innings. He allowed 20 hits, 10 earned runs, and struck out 27 of the 93 batters he faced.
Humphreys is in his second season with the New York Mets, as he was drafted in the 18th round of the 2015 MLB Draft. He was selected from Crystal River High School in Crystal River, FL.
After spending 2015 with the GCL Mets, Humphreys was promoted to the Kingsport Mets, where he made 12 starts, posting a record of 3-5 with an ERA of 3.76.
In 69.1 innings pitched, Humphreys allowed 35 runs, 6 of them unearned, along with 65 hits, 15 walks and struck out 76 of the 286 batters he faced.
Gregorix Estevez will wear number 35, which last belonged to Erik Manoah.
Jordan Humphreys will wear number 46. Joel Huertas last wore 46 before being demoted to Kingsport.
