Staten Island Yankees

A lot remains up in the air this weekend, as a bad weather is expected to pound the New York City area, which could lead to rainouts, delays or straight-out cancellations. However, one thing is certain, this will be the last time the Brooklyn Cyclones will play the Staten Island Yankees, as the Yankees will rebrand next season.

Sunday, September 4th, 4:00 PM

PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Jordan Humphreys (1st Start) vs RHP Simon De La Rosa (6-4, 3.58)

If you haven’t heard the news, note that Sunday’s start time has changed from 6:00 PM to 4:00 PM. That means the gates will open at 2:15 PM for Season Ticket Holders and 2:30 PM for everyone else.

The team will be giving out special Brooklyn Cyclones 2017 calendars to the first 2,000 fans in attendance. Once fans receive them, they can get photos, autographs and mingle with the players, who will be at the front gates and on the steps in honor of Fan Appreciation Day.

Fans should also bring there gloves for one final Pre-Game Catch on the field.

In honor of Labor Day, Lexi Wenger, who sang the American National Anthem last season will once again be singing the Star Spangled prior to Sunday’s game.

Make sure to check the Team Store for any end of season sales. As a reminder, Brooklyn Bolts items are 70% off, and all 2014 New York – Penn League All Star Game & 15 Years of Cyclones Baseball items are already discounted. Sunday is also a good time to purchase some items for the World Baseball Classic, which will take place at MCU Park later in September.

Following the game, kids will be allowed to run the bases. Due to the game being moved to 4:00 PM, the Post-Game Fireworks show has been cancelled.

Monday, September 5th, 7:00 PM

PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Justin Dunn (1-1, 1.33) vs Jonathan Padilla (3-2, 2.39)

Opening Day 2015Assuming Monday’s game actually gets played, there will be plenty going on at RCB Ballpark.

The first 1,000 fans to walk in will receive a voucher to redeem for an old promo item of their choice. There will be plenty of items to choose from.

There will also be a Charity Mystery Bag Sale. These mystery bags will be packed with promo items from seasons past. All proceeds are donated to NYPL charities. Some bags will include signed memrobilia, including a jersey signed by Tyler Austin.

Because the team will be rebranding, there will also be a massive sale of Staten Island Yankee items in the team store.

In the event of cancellations or nonofficial games, the teams will most likely allow fans to use them the following season for other games. Contact your Brooklyn or Staten Island ticket reps.

With the weather expected to be bad, the MTA cancelled all weekend service work. The MTA will operate on a Sunday schedule, so no 5 or B trains in Brooklyn.

However, if Governor Cuomo decides to impose a travel ban or state of emergency, the games will be cancelled. If he does not, make sure to check & the Staten Island Ferry site about any changes.
